The Workbook of Living Prayer edition by Maxie Dunnam Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I purchased this workbook for use with church groups during Lent. The narrative was instructive and the use of scripture and other sources was relevant. We especially liked the suggestions for using each lesson throughout the day. We had our last session today and the feedback was very positive. Although we met in groups of 4 to 6, the workbook would be good for an individual also. However, the group setting encouraged more commitment than a person alone might be able to muster
Well written and I will enjoy using it in my Small Group study.
This book's contents opened my mind and heart to learn about basic discipline of prayer. I was in need of learning structure, practice, why's, how's, is this correct, does this work, is this pleasing to God, am I being an example worthy to other's who are beginning in their journey? This book had many answers that one could not learn on sunday worship. One must dedicate some time to research and learn it, if one wants to mature in the faith. This book was a great help.
Maxie Dunnam has written a very clear and enriching book on Prayer. Whether you are just starting or are an experienced Prayer Warrior, this will open your eyes and shine a light on your path. The exercises are clear and easy. and will clearly illustrate the text for remembering.
I have used this book to teach an adult Sunday school class several times. It is a classic and is great for individual study, or to use in leading a 6 - 12 week group study. Love the electronic version to read on my / Android reader. It is exactly the printed copy, just in an ebook.
Some years ago, I participated in a Bible Study class in which we used this book. Since I am now involved in a weekly prayer group, I remembered how helpful the workbook was. I was happy to find it available for purchase though . It is an excellent and thought-provoking resource for individual or group study to help prayer come alive. It is authored by the distinguished Dr. Maxie Dunnam, a recipient of The Philip Award for Distinguished Service in Evangelism.
Excellent focus on building your personal time with the Lord. Well thought out chapters in a six week study format. Whether you're looking for a group or an individual guide to a more intense and personal time with God this is is a great resource.
Maxie is amazing. I was blessed to hear him for many years as my senior pastor. His preaching and teaching are unparalleled and down to earth.
